The Man, the Machine – the Virendra Sehwag! Herculean Effort! Sehwag today, playing against West Indies, scored 219 runs in the 4th match in the ongoing ODI Series. He broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 200* runs with some mind blowing and Sehwag-like shots which sent the West Indian bowlers all over the park. There are lots of records associated with that inning of the master Indian opening batsman, which you can get in the internet. I would just like to bow down to the destroyer of any bowling attack and wish him all the best with whatever he does in the future for India, for us and for me, as a fan of cricket and the Indian Cricket Team.
This is what he said right after his memorable inning of 219 which came in just 149 balls:
Sachin Tendulkar said that he is happy that an Indian broke his record. Dave Warner was up till late night to watch that inning; tomorrow he has got a test match to play! Chris Gayle called it a 'Child Abuse!' Click here to see what others have said in the very first few moments on Sehwag’s inning.
Well Done, Viru! We are, and we will always be proud of you.
Cheers!

I was telling Gambhir that if we are patient, we can get big runs here. The wicket was good, the outfield was fast and the boundaries were short. True batting wicket, you just have to spend some time and carry on with the shots. I picked the gaps and when I hit it straight, it went for sixes. Thanks to my family and friends. Our top order was not contributing and we needed starts. I never changed my style of play, I played my shots throughout, I just wanted to score runs in the batting powerplay and knew I would get there if I stay on the wicket. When Sammy dropped that catch, I thought god was with me and I just wanted to stay till the 45th over. I am 33 years now, I am an old man and my back is stiff, I will have an ice bath and try to get back on the field.
