A Quote for life!

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.
Specialization is for Insects

Hi friends,

Here I am with the most sorted answer to a question that we often ask ourselves - WHAT TO DO?
Not many of us know what to do, I thought. In reality, most do! They know that they've to wake up at 6 am, go to gym for an hour, have breakfast, go to the market, come back & take bath, get ready and go to office, work for a stipulated time, come back home, spend time with family, dine & hit the sack by 10 pm. Few do this happily everyday & are contended. Few earnestly want to do this everyday & are sure that they'll start this from next Monday. And a majority of those who know what to do, consider themselves rebels & do not want to remain bound by such earthly plans - they don't follow what they know - and are in search of Nirvana! That sums up almost everyone, with their own schedules.

However, most of us fall flat when we extend this question with two words - with life. What to do with life? Now the situation changes by a lot, doesn't it?

Yes! Today I'm going to talk about this. What to do with life?

There are a lot many things that can be and should be done - Global, national, political, economic, social, cultural and personal! It actually boils down to personal choice and our choices tell us what we can do with life. People who have questioned themselves and have searched for an answer have their own list of things that they want to do in life and with their lives. I'm sure that the list is not a short one. At least for those who are adventurous & not focused on specialization have a long list.

Specialization has its own benefits, but not many are specialized. Most people, like me, tend to do multiple things. Few have a focused list of multiple things and most have a vague idea, which they regard as a list of things they want to do. Once we have that list created, the next question comes in mind - which of these items on the list can be done? Again, many of that list can be done & few cannot be done, depending on our selection. The topic of this discussion is to find out what to do from the final list of things that can be done!

With this one life where we are bound to grow up and old every day, comprising of a mere 24 hours, we have always a crunch for time. So, how to do all those that we intend to do? We have to use the principle of deduction, where we make a list of things that we should & can do, and keep on striking out those which can't be done due to the time crunch and various other excuses that we can give ourselves. This should give us at least a few items that we can do. This is the only valid way of finding out what we can do in life and what we should do with our lives. This is a proven method and I'm sure if we do this, we can at least get down to a focused list. We can definitely achieve success doing these things religiously & repeatedly. But achieving success doing these things is a completely different topic, and we will talk about that some other time.

The reader should understand that I'm not focusing on specialization here, which would challenge the very quote on top of my blog, which I earnestly believe in. If you don't want to be a specialized & successful insect in life, you can follow this method to build the road to success.

I hope this helps you or anyone else who wants to do something in life. If you have any comments or suggestions, please use the comment section below. I'd like to know that as well...

Cheers!
